Time for a new car?

I went with Joel to test drive a Toyota Yaris today, fueled by the dealer's estimate of $1600 worth of repairs needed on my car. Fortunately, I was able to get it fixed for a lot cheaper elsewhere. But I think I might be at the point where the car will need more and more repairs. It's got 105,000 miles on it already.
I must say, I like the Yaris for it's quirky bug-like shape (some have called it a dung beetle). Plus it's pretty cheap. Still though, is it time for a new car? Should I drive my old car til it breaks down one cold night in a dark, empty highway? Can I afford it? Should I call into the Suze Orman show to ask?
If you had a fairly tight budget, what car would you buy?

I second the motion. :-) I think Toyota Yaris is nice.

my car isnt gonna break down anytime soon. Its just that regular mmaintenance isn't going to be just n oil change anymore, I think.

I would if I could. Yaris... Jazz... Mini... Swift... although its a "girl" car, hey with the current state of the economy and environment compact cars are the best way to go. Why not?
