"Human" by The Killers.

I am totally mystified by the lyrics: "Are we human, or are we dancer?" -- whuh?

Still, I like the song.

Some financial thoughts

Just some random thoughts that are passing through my head at 1:30 in the morning. I have checking accounts in two banks. It just so happens that these two are some of the most exposed to bad debt among all the banks. Yeah, I'm just that lucky. Or perhaps that's an indication of my bad judgment.

So now that WaMu is bought out by Chase, should I move my paycheck direct deposit from Wachovia to there? Maybe I should move all my money to paypal, haha. Hm... I wonder if they take direct deposit.

I've tried to be financially prudent. I don't have debt; but I probably am not saving and investing as much as I should. It's probably a good time to be more heavily invested in stocks, prices are cheap. Have we reached the bottom, though? Who knows. My 401k is 100% stocks (index funds), so maybe I'm already too heavily invested in stocks.

Too bad I can't afford to buy a house, they're also cheap now. Except the homes *I* want are likely to be way beyond my means.

Oh, and I still have $14 left from the moving expenses Microsoft gave me. I should spend it before it expires on Tuesday. Hm... what can you get for $14?

Goodbye to summer

Sigh.

Rainy days and Mondays...

Randomness

I haven't posted anything in a while, and you can blame Spore for that. As in the best of Will Wright's games, it's all about building. And I really like it.

Have you seen the new Windows ads? This is one that's keeping with tradition too: embrace and extend!

I'm not quite sure why Deepak Chopra is endorsing Windows, but hey!

I've also been following the election coverage obsessively. Everyone is going crazy about Sarah Palin. In one sense, the US is still a bit behind other countries in dealing with female politicians. I think in the Philippines, we've learned to deal with female politicians in exactly the same way we deal with male politicians. We know that female politicians can be every bit as corrupt, greedy, and ruthless as male ones. That being said, I like Sarah Palin.

In case the world ends...

The large hadron collider is being switched on today. There is a miniscule possibility that the universe will end (also possible: fire breathing dragons).

So since the world may end, just wanted to tell y'all that it was fun! :)

Egg and muffin

I had a sudden late-night craving for fried chicken. Fried chicken and waffles, actually. The problem is, I didn't have any chicken available, nor a waffle iron. So instead of frying chicken, I fried and egg. And instead of waffles, I made some oatmeal muffins. Mmmm.

It constantly amazes me what you can do with flour, milk, and eggs.

Love me dead.

I thought they'd be performing during Bumbershoot, but I couldn't muster enough excitement and energy to go. Looks like they weren't at Bumbershoot after all. But Death Cab, Band of Horses, Nada Surf, Stone Temple Pilots, etc. etc. and great new bands were there. Cue Rob cussing me out for not going. ;-)
